Experience only becomes valuable when it improves judgement.
For more than three decades, Gregor Rioch has worked across almost every level of the professional game, from apprentice and professional player to head coach, academy leader and Sporting Director. That breadth of experience provides a perspective that few advisers can offer.
Throughout his career he has led player development, football operations, recruitment, academy strategy, governance and executive leadership, working alongside owners, boards, chief executives and senior leadership teams.
Rather than observing football from the outside, Gregor has spent his career making decisions that shape the direction of clubs, people and long-term success.
His experience includes leading one of English football's most respected academies, guiding clubs through periods of significant organisational change, appointing senior football leaders and negotiating more than thirty first-team player signings and generated in excess of £15 million in transfer income.
Alongside his executive responsibilities, Gregor has presented to the English Football League, The Football Association and the Premier League, sharing practical experience on academy leadership, governance and football operations.
His proudest achievements, however, are not measured by trophies or transfer fees.
They are measured by the people.
Whether developing young players who progressed to the Premier League or supporting others who built successful careers beyond football, Gregor has always believed that developing good people is just as important as developing successful teams.
Today, Rioch Sporting Advisory exists to help football leaders build stronger organisations, make better decisions and create lasting success through independent strategic advice.
Experience that shapes stronger judgement.

Developing people remained just as important as developing players.
